Recertifications

According to FIA regulations, M.E.RIN FT3-1999 – FT5-1999 fuel tanks must be inspected, possibly repaired, and recertified 5 years after the production date. After this recertification, the tank can be used for an additional 2 years if the inspection and repair are successful, making the total usage period 7 years from the production date.

Recertification can only be performed at our facilities, so the tank must be sent to M.E.RIN.
The instructions for recertification are as follows:

• Ensure that the tank was produced by M.E.RIN, otherwise the recertification cannot be performed.
• Check and ensure that the tank has not already been recertified.
• Remove all accessories and the foam (if removable) and allow the foam to dry in the open air for at least 24 hours.
  We prefer to receive the tank without accessories and cover. The foam can be sent only if it is completely dry.
• Make sure the tank is completely emptied of any fuel residues, and allow it to evaporate in the open air.
• Place the foam back into the tank and wrap it in one or two plastic bags.
  Then ship it inside a cardboard box.
• Ship exclusively under DDP terms, Incoterms® 2020 ICC.
• Do not forget to include the original certificate or a copy.
  Packages without the transport document attached to the outside, or without a reason for the shipment and a description of the requested work, will not be accepted.
